My (Abbreviated) Trip To BlogPaws - Part 1

I was thrilled to top off my season of blog related travel with a trip to Washington DC & BlogPaws.

The flight was short & I flew in on Wednesday to have a day to sight see before the conference started on Thursday.  I didn't realize how far my hotel in Tyson's Corner, Virginia would be from all the sights.

I had to take a cab to the subway station & take the subway all the way into DC proper.  You may or may not know that I suffer from an anxiety disorder, so this seemed like a terrifying task to me, but I'm glad to say that I overcame my fears and made it.

I think you can see the scared on my face, lol!
I was famished so I went into the Smithsonian Museum of American History and enjoyed a huge, but expensive chicken pita wrap.

I arrived in DC the day after the earthquake & everyone was still pretty nervous.  After my visit to the museum, I planned to walk to the Washington Monument and then do the full circuit of the monuments, but I decided to wait and leave that to the monument tour I was planning on taking with my flat pet friends on Friday night.  (Bad choice, in retrospect.)

If you're interested in what I saw in the Museum of American History, click here.  There are a few pictures that I took in there on my Screaming Mimi blog, including Julia Childs kitchen & the first Kermit the Frog.
