My husband and I adopted our first dog in April. We had been waiting a long time to be able to do this (we were always renters and now we finally own a house), so we're both pretty excited. I promptly became straight-up obsessed with our furry son, Desmond, and I'm certain my friends would say I've crossed over into Crazy Dog Lady land.
The blog allows me to share news of Desmond's antics with friends and family (he's got separation anxiety and has been through a bit of an ordeal), as well as meet other dog people out here in the blogosphere. It also is a great way to get advice and ideas from others about any issues we're having at home with the dog--and sometimes it's just nice to vent or gush or brag or be annoyingly into my dog. I run the blog by myself in whatever free time I have at home or on lunch breaks (I work a day job).

As a side note, I recently enrolled in school to become a certified dog trainer. I haven't even announced this on my blog yet, but I know that this advancement will provide me with great stories and information to share with my readers as I study and take many, many tests and work through an apprenticeship.
