The Feast of the Moon, by Brian Wapole is a book that is great for children of any age and would be the perfect bedtime reading for a family.
The hamster who stars in the story deals with family strife, sibling rivalry and loss and fear. The hamster faces danger at the hands of man and a life filled with excitement.
I really like this book because it's so well written. It will appeal to many generations and is not 'dumbed-down' language wise, just because it's a children's book.
This book teaches courage, friendship, bravery and empathy in one humor packed tome. Beautiful imagery sets the tone for this Watership Down type story that reads almost like a fable.
For first time author Wapole, this book is amazingly well written with a story well told.
