Katie is a multilingual mom of two little kids (ages three and one). After graduating from college, she decided to move to Rome, Italy, for one month. The first week there, she met the love of her life, Stefano. She canceled her return flight and stayed on in Rome for six years, completing her Master's Degree and working for international organizations such as the United Nations. On a daily basis, she brought food and toys to the neighborhood cat "hangout" where abandoned cats lived.
Katie and Stefano, both huge animal lovers, rescued three cats from the streets of Rome. There was no question about bringing them on their transatlantic move when they decided to relocate to upstate NY, where Katie is from. Their daughter, now three years old, came shortly after their move, followed by their son who is now one year old. Sadly, one of their cats passed away in February, much to the dismay of Katie, Stefano and the kids who were particularly attached to him.
After a rough adjustment to life without their beloved cat, the family decided to bring in another pet. Something different. Something...that oinks. In July, the family welcomed a micro mini pig to their bunch! Coccolino, which can be translated as "little cuddlebug" from Italian, has been quite the addition. With his endearing snorts, infamous squeals and now insistent cuddles, Coccolino has made his way into their lives and hearts. While Coccolino has found his place in their home, it has not always been without incident. Coccolino is a mischievous mini pig that likes to test the boundaries and make up for any chaos with his piggy kisses. He provides much entertainment, all found in the blog that Katie started so her friends and readers could learn about Cocco's amusing adventures. Although it's not always easy at the time to have a mini pig, it is definitely funny reading!
Please stop by and say hi to Katie, Coccolino & the whole gang!
