Just Bill, written by Michigan native Barry Knister is a book that takes the animal-human connection to another level.
Bill, the title's mutt, tells most of the story himself, with help from others, like his human friend Fred or "Vinyl" as he is called. Bill has a good life and just wants to please his master. He has lots of good doggie friends in his community and life is great until one great whopper of a lie, told by Vinyl's granddaughter, threatens everything Bill loves.
In my opinion, Mr. Knister hits the nail on the head with the various dogs' voices and with the relationships between both human and animal and human to human.
A slim read at 173 pages this would be a great book to help you waste away a lazy summer day!

I give it two thumbs up.
