Meet Kobe, as he takes you around dog-friendly Chicago.
Kobe and the City is about Kobe and his daily walks/outings in the city of Chicago! Chicago is such a dog-friendly city, and we're excited to showcase everything it has to offer!
My boyfriend surprised me with Kobe one random Friday night in October, 2011. He came home with Kobe after we had been talking about getting a puppy, and surprised the heck out of me! Here was this adorable, 6-lb cock-a-poo who was terrified of us at first, then began to warm up to us by that night. My boyfriend is a huge Kobe Bryant fan, so as we were thinking of names for our new puppy, Kobe just stuck.
I decided to start up Kobe and the City as a fun way to keep track of all the different things we do with Kobe here in Chicago, along with keeping track of all the pictures I take of him on a daily basis. On our daily walks, Kobe and I visit Grant Park, Navy Pier, Lake Shore Drive, and other dog-friendly places. I also plan on trying many of the dog-friendly restaurants now that summer is around the corner. We're huge supporters of one our local animal shelters, The Anti-Cruelty Society, so we attend many of their events. They've held events in the past, such as walks, black-tie events, yappy hours, canine cruise over lake Michigan, among other things.
I hope you enjoy Kobe and the City and if ever you're in town with your pup, let me know so we can offer some dog-friendly things to do and places to visit!!
Spend a few minutes to go visit Kobe and the City to welcome them to Blogville.
